HB 2867 would:

• Discriminate based on viewpoint, favoring speech supportive of Israel while punishing speech critical of it.
• Put students and educators at risk of punishment for expressing views that differ from official government positions.
• Chill open discussion in academic settings, making it harder for students to talk about matters of public concern.
  

Public schools already have rules in place that prohibit harassment, threats, and discrimination without infringing on free speech. This bill is unnecessary, and worse, it’s dangerous to the open exchange of ideas that education depends on.
